ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Nicholas Arno was born in San Francisco, California in 1997 and has lived in Denver, Colorado since 1999. As soon as he could hold a marker, Nick was drawing. As he grew up, Nick’s supportive family continuously nurtured his creative instinct, giving him many opportunities to hone his craft. During his formative years, Nick attended many classes at the Art Students League of Denver, experimenting in mediums ranging from comic book art to sculpture. In 2008, Nick auditioned at Denver School of the Arts for their Visual Arts program. With the invaluable guidance of Erin Schoepke, an instructor at the Art Students League from 2000 to 2018, Nick was accepted into the program and attended Denver School of the Arts (DSA) from 6th grade to 12th grade. Nick developed his craft in those seven years, working in the mediums of acrylic and oil paint, pen and ink drawing, colored pencil drawing, print making, and sculpture. During this stretch of his education, Nick also had the opportunity to participate in the Youth Artist Mentorship program through Denver’s RedLine Contemporary Art Center in 2012. He was honored with an artistic achievement scholarship from the Sawaya Law Firm before graduating from DSA in 2015.

A lifelong lover of film, Nick entered college at the University of Colorado Denver studying Film and Television, eventually earning his Bachelor of Arts in 2022. He had the opportunity to work on numerous projects including a web series and a feature film. After the start of the pandemic in 2020, Nick reopened a creative doorway to the visual arts, an area he hadn’t explored since high school, and recognized that this medium gave him access to a depth of expression he needed. Nick works tirelessly to refine his style and reach an audience who shares his belief in being yourself no matter what society has to say.
